Who are the founders of Stellar?

Stellar was created in 2014 by the Stellar Development Foundation, also known as Stellar.org. The platform was co-founded by Jed McCaleb, who also co-founded the cryptocurrency Ripple.

What makes Stellar unique?

Stellar is a decentralized network designed to connect the world's financial systems and allow for fast, low-cost (just 0.00001 XLM for every transaction), and reliable cross-border payments. It uses its own native cryptocurrency called Lumens (XLM) as an intermediate currency to facilitate transactions between different fiat and digital currencies. Stellar's focus is on enabling access to the global financial system for individuals, especially those in developing countries.

The current circulating supply of Stellar (XLM) is approximately 29 billion tokens. The total supply of Stellar is 50 billion XLM, which nearly represents the maximum supply.
