What to Expect at CES 2025

TradingKey - As a barometer for the tech economy, CES 2025 is set to kick off on January 5 in Las Vegas, reaffirming its position as one of the world's largest tech exhibitions. The event will highlight key areas of innovation, including artificial intelligence, automotive technology, AR/XR/VR, robotics, cloud computing, and wearable devices.

Nvidia Leads the AI Industry Spotlight

Artificial intelligence will remain a central theme at CES 2025. Nvidia has previously hinted at its CES 2025 keynote, which is highly likely to focus on GeForce. The presentation is expected to feature the unveiling of the RTX 5090, along with other GPUs such as the RTX 5080, and potentially the next-generation Blackwell laptop GPUs.

Nvidia's high-end GPUs are expected to be costly. AMD could attract attention by launching a competitor to the RTX 4080 Super while improving ray tracing performance. Rumors suggest AMD may release non-XT models, such as the RX 8700 and RX 8600. 

SK Group will also emphasize its contributions to the AI value chain, spanning from semiconductor chips to data centers. SK Hynix is set to showcase its latest HBM chips, positioning itself as a key player in AI-driven hardware solutions. 

Six Major Automakers to Showcase

Automotive technology is poised to be another key focus at CES 2025, with Scout, BMW, Toyota, Honda, and Suzuki among the automakers confirmed to participate. Karma Automotive and Aptera will also make appearances, while Volvo, SiriusXM, and Waymo will feature keynote speakers. 

BMW plans to unveil its "first-ever Panoramic BMW iDrive Display" alongside its Neue Klasse operating concept, which aims to set new standards for in-car experiences with a focus on driver-centric design, safety, and personalization. 

Toyota will provide updates on its Woven City, showcasing advancements in the Arene mobility software platform, safety-first autonomous driving technologies, and Woven City test courses for cutting-edge mobility solutions. 

Karma Automotive will detail its collaboration with Intel to develop a software-defined vehicle architecture. This platform will not only underpin Karma’s 2026 Kaveya hypercar but also aim to drive industry-wide transformation. 

LG Electronics will highlight its AI-based in-vehicle sensing technology, emphasizing real-world user applications and enhanced driving experiences. 

AI-Driven Smart Home Tech by Samsung and LG

Smart home appliances will take center stage at CES 2025. Samsung plans to unveil an AI-powered refrigerator with hybrid cooling that predicts temperature changes and adjusts automatically. Samsung's AI integration will also extend to its washing machines and dryers.

LG will showcase its 2025 QNED evo TVs, introducing a new AI-powered dynamic tone mapping feature to enhance picture quality. AI capabilities will also improve audio performance, capturing and amplifying dialogue while reducing background noise for an optimized viewing experience.
