Taiwan shares higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.04%

Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Electronic Parts/Components, Auto and Machinery sectors propelled shares higher.


At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.04%.


The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424), which rose 10.00% or 3.20 points to trade at 35.20 at the close. Tong Ming Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:5538) added 9.90% or 3.05 points to end at 33.85 and Taiflex Scientific Co Ltd (TW:8039) was up 9.89% or 5.60 points to 62.20 in late trade.


Biggest losers included Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which lost 9.95% or 0.21 points to trade at 1.90 in late trade. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Sesoda Corp (TW:1708) shed 7.27% or 3.10 points to 39.55.


Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.


In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.68% or 0.51 to $75.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.60% or 0.47 to hit $78.62 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.35 to trade at $2,545.95 a troy ounce.


USD/TWD was up 0.07% to 31.83, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.18% to 0.22.


The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 100.61.
