Wall Street's main indexes surged on Wednesday, with the benchmark S&P 500 at a one-week high, propelled by lower-than-expected core inflation data for December and robust quarterly earnings from the biggest U.S. banks. .N

At 10:33 EST, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was up 1.57% at 43,184.67. The S&P 500 .SPX was up 1.65% at 5,939.42, and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC was up 2.20% at 19,463.22.
