EUROPE BEFORE THE BELL: FTSE FUTURES OUTPERFORM ON SOFT INFLATION DATA

European futures are hinting at jumps at the open, with FTSE futures outperforming after UK inflation unexpectedly fell in December, meanwhile traders are digesting a stream of corporate earnings as reporting seasons kicks off.

EuroSTOXX50 STXEc1 futures are up 0.3%, DAX futures FDXc1 are ticking 0.2% higher while FTSE futures FFIc1 are up 0.5%.

British inflation unexpectedly slowed last month with the data release pushing futures higher after 7am. Core measures of price growth - tracked by the Bank of England - fell more sharply.

In company news, France's Bureau Veritas BVI.PA is in talks to combine with Swiss testing and inspection company SGS SGSN.S, the companies said on Wednesday.

British recruiter Hays HAYS.L forecast first-half operating profit below market expectations, while emerging markets-focused wealth manager Ashmore ASHM.L reported a 6% fall in second-quarter managed assets.

Britain's International Distribution Services IDSI.L said revenue inched higher during the busy Christmas period, while the county's largest homebuilder by output Vistry said market conditions for the current fiscal year remained uncertain.
