Pool Re names ex-Zurich exec Roberts as chief finance and investment officer

April 16 - (The Insurer) - Pool Re has appointed Richard Roberts to the newly created role of chief finance and investment officer, the UK terrorism mutual said on Wednesday.

Roberts succeeds outgoing chief investment officer Ian Coulman and chief finance and operations officer Peter Aves, who are both set to retire by the end of the year.

He reports directly to Pool Re CEO Tom Clementi.

Prior to joining Pool Re, Roberts served as head of EMEA and Asia insurance business development at AllianceBernstein, where he was responsible for expanding the third-party insurance business in these regions.

Other previous roles include investment director at Aberdeen and head of balance sheet investments, UK at Zurich Insurance Group.
