PARIS, April 13 (Reuters) - Russia's missile strike on the northern Ukrainian city of Sumy highlights the urgent need to impose a ceasefire on Russia, wrote French President Emmanuel Macron on X on Sunday.
"Everyone knows it is Russia alone that wants this war. Today it is clear that Russia alone wants to continue with it, showing its scorn for human life, international law and diplomatic efforts made by President (Donald) Trump," said Macron.
"Strong measures are needed to impose a ceasefire on Russia. France is working tirelessly toward this goal, alongside its partners," he said.
At least 21 people were killed and 83 others wounded by a Russian ballistic missile strike in Sumy on Sunday morning, Ukraine's interior minister Ihor Klymenko said.
