April 9 (Reuters) - TC Energy TRP.TO on Wednesday shut down a part of its ANR pipeline system due to a leak near Fennville, Michigan, causing a natural gas outage in the region.
The pipeline was struck by a third party and TC Energy isolated and shut the damaged part of the pipeline after it learned of the incident around 2:10 p.m. ET, it said in a statement.
The resulting gas outage in the Fennville area could last several days as repairs are conducted on the pipeline, TC added.
About 5,200 homes were without natural gas in the region, Michigan Gas Utilities said.
TC Energy’s ANR pipeline system spans more than 9,300 miles, transporting over 10 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day to U.S. Midwestern states.
