- Chicago Board of Trade soybean futures traded near flat, then shot higher near the end of the session on Wednesday as U.S. President Donald Trump announced a 90-day pause on the tariff increases he announced last week for most countries, even as he raised them on China.

  • CBOT May soybeans SK25 settled up 20 cents to end at $10.12-3/4 a bushel.

  • CBOT May soymeal SMK25 ended up $3.50 at $294.50 per short ton.

  • CBOT May soyoil BOK25 rose 1-1/4 cents to finish at 46.19 cents per pound.

  • U.S. soybean futures soared on Wednesday, rallying along with crude oil CLc1 and equity markets as Trump said he would pause previously announced tariff increases on goods from many countries, though tariffs will be increased to 125% on imports from China.

  • Ukraine may increase its soybean exports to the European Union if the trade conflict between the U.S. and the EU escalates, Ukrainian farm producers union UAC said on Wednesday.

  • The USDA reported exporters sold 198,000 metric tons of soybeans in a private sale to unknown destinations for 2024/2025 delivery.
