HOUSTON, April 2 (Reuters) - Motiva Enterprises MOTIV.UL plans to complete by April 10 the restart of the gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracker at its 626,000 barrel-per-day Port Arthur, Texas refinery, said people familiar with plant operations on Wednesday.
The 81,000-bpd FCC was shut on January 21 for a planned overhaul expected to take two months to complete. The unit's compressor was damaged in a restart attempt during the March 29-30 weekend, requiring repairs, the sources said.
A Motiva spokesperson did not reply on Wednesday to a request for comment on refinery operations.
Motiva made the first attempt to restart the FCC on March 22, which ruptured seals on the unit, requiring their replacement.
The 18,000-bpd alkylation unit was shut along with the FCC and has partially restarted. It will return to full production once the FCC can produce additional feedstock for the alkylation unit.
