ReutersJan 6, 2025 8:58 PM

- Basis bids for hard red winter wheat were steady to higher on Monday following a winter storm that brought snow and ice across the central Plains.

* The wheat basis improved at a wheat co-operative in Goodland, Texas, though bids remained flat elsewhere.

* Protein premiums for HRW wheat shipped by rail to or through Kansas City were unchanged. KCBT/SCA

* The Chicago Board of Trade K.C. March wheat contract KWH25 settled up 14-1/4 cents at $5.53-1/4 per bushel.

* CBOT wheat futures gained support from a technical correction and a dip in the U.S. dollar.

* The U.S. Department of Agriculture is scheduled to report on Friday the number of U.S. winter wheat acres that were planted last autumn for harvest in 2025.
