Dec 26 (Reuters) - Basis bids for soybeans and corn were mostly steady at elevators, processors, river terminals and ethanol plants around the U.S. Midwest in a spot check on Thursday.
* The one exception was an elevator in Blair, Nebraska, where the basis fell by 1 cent.
* CBOT most-active March soybeans SH25 settled up 16 cents, or 1.6%, at $9.97-1/4 per bushel.
* CBOT March corn CH25 ended up 5-1/4 cents, or 1.2%, at $4.53-3/4 per bushel after rising to $4.54-1/4, the highest level on a continuous chart of the most-active corn futures contract CV1 since June 26.
* Chicago corn futures hit a six-month high on Thursday on spillover strength from wheat and soybeans with a thin holiday trade and expectations of tightening U.S. corn supplies, traders said.
* Chicago soybean futures rose more than 1% as concerns about dry weather in parts of Argentina prompted speculators to exit short positions, according to traders.
