Harami Cross
A Harami Cross is a reversal candlestick pattern characterized by a long candlestick followed by a Doji. For this pattern to be considered a valid Harami Cross, the Doji must be positioned within the body of the first candlestick.
The term "Harami" translates to "conception" or "pregnant" in Japanese. The initial candlestick is referred to as the "mother," featuring a large real body that completely encompasses the smaller second candlestick, resembling a pregnant figure.
The Harami Cross pattern holds more significance than the standard Harami pattern due to the inclusion of a Doji, which is a candlestick with little to no real body. A Doji occurs when the closing price and the high price are either the same or very close to each other.
This small body size signifies indecision and uncertainty within the market. Additionally, a Doji with long shadows carries more weight than one with short shadows.
