Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Power, Telecoms and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index lost 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were OK Rusal MKPAO (MCX:RUAL), which rose 1.40% or 0.47 points to trade at 34.41 at the close. GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX:AGRODR) added 0.84% or 10.20 points to end at 1,231.60 and Polyus PJSC (MCX:PLZL) was up 0.32% or 47.00 points to 14,601.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PIK SHb PJSC (MCX:PIKK), which lost 3.51% or 22.40 points to trade at 615.40 in late trade. AK ALROSA PJSC (MCX:ALRS) declined 2.91% or 1.52 points to end at 50.78 and ROSSETI PJSC (MCX:FEES) 2.48% or 0.00 points to 0.08.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 189 to 54 and 12 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 2.77% to 27.48.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.88% or 24.20 to $2,763.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.81% or 1.27 to hit $71.31 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $75.53 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.01% to 95.74, while EUR/RUB fell 0.01% to 103.38.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 103.89.
