FTSE 100 opens lower today; shares down

Investing.com – U.K. equities started with losses on Wednesday. The top losers were Beverages, Gas Water & Multiutilities, Life Insurance and Industrial Transportation sectors. However, there were some sectors rising; Industrial Metals & Mining, for example.

At the market open in London, the FTSE 100 Index dropped 0.20%. The FTSE 250 Index and the FTSE 350 Index also fell. The FTSE 250 dropped 0.05%, while the FTSE 350 was down by 0.32%.

Top Gainers:

  • EasyJet (LON:EZJ): Climbed 1.80% or 9.20 points to 519.20.
  • Fresnillo (LON:FRES): Rose 1.58% or 9.45 points to 608.45.
  • Rio Tinto (LON:RIO): Increased 1.21% or 61.0 points to 5,110.0.
