Belgium shares lower at close of trade; BEL 20 down 0.32%

Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.32%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB), which rose 2.99% or 0.98 points to trade at 33.73 at the close. Ackermans&Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB) added 2.17% or 4.00 points to end at 188.00 and Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) was up 1.38% or 0.15 points to 11.00 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 1.30% or 0.36 points to trade at 27.34 in late trade. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) declined 1.29% or 6.20 points to end at 475.70 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI) shed 1.17% or 0.68 points to 57.32.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 53 to 45 and 8 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.14% or 3.75 to $2,596.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.69% or 0.48 to hit $69.48 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.71% or 0.52 to trade at $73.18 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 100.61.
