Greece shares higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 0.63%

Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction, Banking and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.63%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr), which rose 3.31% or 0.24 points to trade at 7.49 at the close. Intralot (AT:INLr) added 3.19% or 0.04 points to end at 1.17 and Public Power (AT:DEHr) was up 3.11% or 0.35 points to 11.62 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr), which lost 2.99% or 0.40 points to trade at 13.00 in late trade. J.&P. Avax (AT:AVAr) declined 0.90% or 0.01 points to end at 1.33 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) shed 0.82% or 0.02 points to 2.42.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 72 to 40 and 23 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.26% or 6.85 to $2,605.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.02% or 0.71 to hit $70.59 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.96% or 0.71 to trade at $74.36 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 100.64.
