TradingKey —  The results of the 60th U.S. presidential election are in, with former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump announcing his victory in the early hours of November 6th, marking a significant political comeback.

Even before the official release of the final vote count, Fox News reported that Trump had successfully defeated Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, solidifying his return to the White House four years after leaving office.

In addition to the presidential race, the Republican Party achieved a historic "Red Wave," securing control of both chambers of Congress. The GOP captured 51 seats in the Senate, surpassing the Democrats' 41 seats, while in the House of Representatives, Republicans claimed 199 seats, outpacing the Democrats' 169.

The 2024 election was marked by several dramatic developments, including President Joe Biden's withdrawal from the race, Kamala Harris stepping in as the Democratic nominee, and an attempted assassination on Trump. The closely contested race between the two major parties further underscored the highly competitive and unprecedented nature of this election cycle.
